Our Process

Paul walks through the project goals, challenges, solution and results for this brand.

The challenge

The challenge was to create a warm, trustworthy brand that speaks to thoughtful pet parents who treat their dogs like family. Honest, wholesome, and full of heart.

Process

We dug into the world of pet wellness, community-driven brands, and the deep bond between dogs and their people. Our conclusions? Competitor branding was uninspiring and uninviting. We wanted to create a brand identity that positioned Homeplace as a premium pet food brand that serves beloved fur babies with food fit for humans.

Solution

We responded to the brief and created a gentle, handcrafted identity with a mascot logo, custom illustrations and limited colour palette made to reflect the natural goodness behind every treat. We leant into the idea of human quality food being served in a restaurant and created a packaging system based around this. To add some humour, we created an illustration of a hand holding a silver platter serving up food as a little joke that the pets are the real masters.
